Affordable Programs

Study abroad may be more affordable than you think. 

We design study abroad programs with affordability in mind to meet the needs of all UMD students. In some cases, studying abroad for a semester costs less than a semester in College Park!

Exchanges

When you participate in a University exchange program, you pay the equivalent of your UMD tuition (regardless if you are in- or out-of-state)!  Exchanges are one of the most affordable study abroad options and will allow you to take advantage of excellent academic programs at universities around the globe. 

Education Abroad also offers a $1,000 waiver to all UMD exchange participants who do not currently receive full tuition scholarship or benefits. 

Affiliate Programs

Education Abroad partners with organizations like University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) to offer UMD students additional affordable programs in locations around the world. Explore USAC programs in Costa Rica, Chile, South Africa, Thailand, China, Germany and more!
