Global Terps
Show us what it means to be a Global Terp!
Our students at UMD and around the world are participating in cross-cultural exchange. Whether you are studying abroad, coming to campus as an international student or taking a Global Classrooms course this spring–you are gaining vital skills only achievable through global learning.
Host a Takeover
Host a takeover on the Maryland Global (@maryland.global) Instagram page and share what it means to be a Global Terp! To participate, you may choose to highlight a day-in-your-life or take photos and videos throughout the term to share highlights of your program or course during a takeover. Maybe you are meeting up with a language partner, seeing a baseball game with other exchange students or volunteering in our College Park community…show us how you study, explore and give back as a Global Terp!
Submit a "Day in the Life" Reel
Submit a Reel for the Maryland Global (@maryland.global) instagram page! Choose a day that works for you and create a reel that highlights what it means to be a Global Terp! Videos might focus on the course you are studying, your typical day on UMD’s campus or what a day looks like in your host city.
Please review Maryland Global’s Video Guidelines & Expectations prior to submission.
Participate and win prizes!
After you complete your takeover and/or submit a reel, you will be entered into our raffle for one of three $50 Terrapin Express gift cards at the end of the fall term. If you choose to conduct a takeover and submit a video, you will receive two entries into the raffle. The raffle will take place on December 11 and include takeovers/submissions between May 10-December 10, 2024.
All students engaged in global learning at UMD are invited to participate.
