Program Overview

The Korea University Climate Corps is a global summer program that brings together students and scholars from leading universities to address the climate crisis through interdisciplinary collaboration. Launched in 2025 as Korea University’s flagship sustainability initiative, the Climate Corps convenes participants working across climate technology, policy, innovation and applied research.

Korea University will host the second cohort of the Climate Corps in summer 2026. This five-day, in-person program offers University of Maryland students the opportunity to engage with global peers, learn from international experts and contribute to collaborative climate-focused projects in Seoul.

2026 Theme

Fostering Global Climate Leaders: The 2026 Climate Corps focuses on preparing students to become globally engaged climate leaders through experiential learning, teamwork and cross-border exchange.

 

How to Apply

Program Highlights

  • Dates: July 6–10, 2026
  • Location: Korea University, Seoul, South Korea
  • Format: Lectures, seminars, interdisciplinary group projects, research sharing, and site visits
  • Participating institutions: 30+ universities from six continents
  • Participants:
    • Three undergraduate (junior/senior) or graduate students from each participating university
    • Leading international scholars in climate technology, innovation and policy

Cost & Financial Aid

  • 100% tuition waived
  • Complementary housing provided by Korea University
  • $750 UMD scholarship for participating students to support travel expenses.

Eligibility

Open to qualified undergraduate (junior or senior) and graduate students from the University of Maryland with an interest in climate-related fields, including but not limited to sustainability, engineering, public policy, environmental science and innovation.
