Celebrating 10 Years of Global Classrooms

Global Classrooms 10 Year graphic

Image removed. For the past decade, Global Classrooms has served as a bridge between classroom aspirations and real-world impact. These virtual, project-based courses foster cross-cultural collaboration between UMD students and peers at international partner institutions.

From drafting inclusive legislation in Brazil, to memorial site proposals in Ukraine, and finding new approaches to national security with Afghanistan, our students are harnessing digital tools to connect globally and collaborate with students at other universities on projects that make a difference without leaving campus. This wouldn’t be possible without the creativity, commitment and dedication of faculty at UMD and our partner universities around the world, supported by the expertise of Global Learning Initiatives and global engagement staff and the curious minds of students.

Learn more about Global Classrooms and stay tuned as we celebrate the impact of this reimagined global learning program during the 2024-25 academic year.
