Shashank Pratap Singh: A Leader Driving Student Success

Shashank Pratap SinghMeet Shashank Pratap Singh, a senior majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Technology Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation at UMD. Originally from Lucknow, India, and now based in Rockville, Maryland, Shashank is passionate about the intersection of business and technology—particularly in ed-tech—to support the UN’s Quality Education Sustainable Development Goal.

A dedicated student leader, Shashank serves on multiple advisory boards, including the CMNS Inclusive Excellence Advisory Board, the VPSA Student Advisory Council, and the Student Leadership and Involvement Board, where he advocates for a more inclusive and engaging campus experience. In addition, he supports fellow students as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in the Computer Science department and a Community Assistant in the Department of Resident Life.

As Co-President of the International Student Advisory Board (ISAB), Shashank leads initiatives to elevate international student voices. One of his key projects is Crossing Time Zones, a podcast highlighting the diverse journeys of UMD’s international students.
