Pursue Your International Research Dream
As a Terp, you have access to a variety of government agencies, international organizations, and private foundations that provide funding for global research. Our Division of Research compiles many of these, and actively subscribes to the Foundation Center Directory online alongside SPINPlus, the "World's Largest Database of Sponsored Funding Opportunities". A simple search of SPINPlus for the terms, "international" or "global" can generate thousands of funding opportunities. Pursue your dreams today!
A number of ongoing funding programs focus on a particular country or region:
American-Scandinavian Foundation Fellowships and Grants offer fellowships and grants to individuals to pursue research or study in one or more Scandinavian countries for up to one academic year, open to graduate and post-graduate students in all fields.
The Taiwan Fellowship offers doctoral students and faculty experts interested in topics related to Taiwan, cross-Taiwan strait relations, mainland China, and the Asia Pacific an opportunity to conduct advanced studies at Taiwan’s universities or research institutions.
Woodrow Wilson Center Fellowships and Grants offer nine-month residential fellowships for scholars to conduct research and write in their areas of expertise, while interacting with policymakers in the Washington and Wilson Center staff.
Do you know of an ongoing international grant program that other members of the Maryland community need to know about? Contact OIA Associate Director Joe Scholten at firstname.lastname@example.org, and he will add it to this list.
