USCIS to increase Government Filing Fees
US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that they will increase the government filing fees of the following government forms and petitions (see chart below).
Helpful tips
- The new fee will be required for petitions/applications postmarked on or after the effective date (It is not the mailing date, but the postmarked date of applicable petitions and applications to USCIS.)
- USCIS will change its premium processing timeframe from calendar days (which include every day of the week) to business days (which only include Monday to Friday, excluding federal holidays).
- Students planning on applying for OPT before the fee increase takes place, must have their I-20 OPT request to ISSS no later than March 15, 2024
If you have any questions, please contact an ISSS advisor.
