Ciara is a Syracuse, NY native who graduated from SUNY Binghamton University with a B.A. in philosophy, politics and law, and Spanish language and literature. Ciara spent a semester abroad in Viña del Mar, Chile, and after graduating went on to teach English in Costa Rica and Argentina. It was through her experiences teaching, traveling, and learning in Latin America, that Ciara’s dedication to the field of international education emerged. After her return, she worked in International Student Services at Colgate University. She recently received her M.A. in international education from The George Washington University where she worked as the outreach coordinator at the Refugee Educational Advancement Laboratory (REAL). During her graduate program Ciara also participated in the UMD & GW International Investigations in Cuban Education program in Havana, Cuba. Ciara is passionate about improving access to study abroad and helping students get the support they need in every phase of the education abroad experience. Her role as an operations coordinator allows her to support students by facilitating essential enrollment services such as course scheduling, registration, and billing.
