Shiri Huber's Spring Term at University of Edinburgh
"Getting to know people with a completely different worldview is not only fascinating, but also curiosity inducing. I did a group project with students from Norway, Mexico, and Scotland, heard the Scottish perspective on Brexit, and debated politics with my French roommate."
Alexis Foley on UMD-Winter: Ghana (CHSE)
"From our visits to four institutions in Ghana as well as working alongside our partners at the University of Cape Coast, I learned what it means to mold systems that are unique to any given cultural context. I learned that it is important to have multiple perspectives and be able to see through different lenses in order to truly be a global practitioner."
John Meyers on UMD-Summer: Czech Republic (ENCE)
"During this process, I learned that I could not simply apply the thought process about how to solve public problems with my American perspective. I needed to learn the needs and wants of Czech citizens, and how they would approach a similar problem."
Jessica De Mouy on TEAN: Thailand and Cambodia
"My teachers treated me like old friends, my host family treated me like family, and I made friends that I still connect with and would love to see in the future."
Kerri Simmons on UMD-Winter: Australia and New Zealand (CPSP/HONR)
"My best advice is that if you are given the opportunity to study abroad, take it!! I was very hesitant at first about going abroad, but it ended up being an invaluable experience I will never forget. I loved everything about my experience- from learning about the culture to getting to know the other students in my program."
