Dr. Nahorniac leads the effort to integrate global learning into the curriculum, co-curriculum, and extracurricular opportunities. She works with academic departments to develop Global Learning for All plans, including in-person and virtual engagement opportunities, at home or abroad. She helps pilot and scale global learning opportunities in collaboration with global partners, Dr. Nahorniac led the development and implementation of Global Classrooms: project-based virtual courses offered in collaboration with partner universities abroad. Prior to joining the University of Maryland, she served as the global partnerships coordinator in the Office of Global Affairs at the University of Connecticut. Previously, she was a lecturer and projects manager at the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest, Romania. She has an undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Bucharest and a Ph.D. in anthropology from Università degli Studi di Perugia.
