Kate joined the EA team in 2024 supporting operations for EA registration, billing, scheduling and other operational workflows to facilitate seamless program implementation.
Kate began her career in global education as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant to Ecuador. Following her Fulbright year, she served as a K-Higher Ed public Spanish educator for nearly a decade launching large-scale curriculum mapping projects and innovating new operational systems to increase equitable access to programming. Her career as an educator culminated in a Kansas Teacher of the Year nomination before she decided to further explore her passion for global education. Prior to joining UMD, she led professional development for a team of language educators at a national EdTech startup and also supported the U.S. Department of State Kennedy-Lugar YES Exchange Program as a Program Coordinator at an international nonprofit.
Kate holds an M.A. in Spanish Education from Southern Oregon University’s residency program in Guanajuato, México in addition to a B.A. in Spanish Language and K-12 Spanish education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
