Julia Xia

Julia joined Education Abroad in 2023 and serves as an advisor for the Maryland-in-Rome program, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, and the Honors College. Prior to joining the University of Maryland, she completed her graduate degree in higher education administration at Georgetown University. During her time as a Georgetown student, she also held student affairs/administrative roles at their main and Law School campuses and conducted her capstone research on community, resources, and support for LGBTQ+ BIPOC students at historically women's colleges. Julia holds a B.A. in government and music from Smith College. During her undergraduate years, she studied abroad in Hamburg, Germany and conducted an independent research project on transnational themes in classical music performance. She is excited to support UMD students as they use study abroad to enhance their academic journeys.
