Jeannette Dai-Wang
She/Her
Jeanette oversees the development of international professional programs and global learning programs for the students and faculty of UMD’s international partner universities. She plays a key role in GLI’s strategic planning and business development. She serves as a consultant to other UMD units and D.C. area government agencies on China-related issues. Prior to her appointment as the associate director of programming, she was in charge of the Office of China Affairs’ executive and professional program development from 2006-2021.
Jeannette is very proud to take part in international program development. She believes that international programs give students the opportunity to develop life skills (independence, problem-solving, critical thinking, and confidence), improve language acquisition, and bridge cultural differences through friendship.
Prior to joining UMD in 2006, Jeannette worked as an attorney for financial institutions and law firms. Jeannette holds a law degree from Southern Illinois University and a B.A. in political science and international relations from the University of Buffalo.
