Bijoya Chakraborty

Bijoya came to the U.S. as an F-1 student to pursue her undergraduate and graduate studies in Louisiana. While pursuing her degrees, she worked in the International Student Office and started getting interested in the field. Bijoya has over 15 years of experience in the field of international advising. Bijoya joined the University of Maryland in 2016 and advises the current F/J student population in complex matters such as change of status, reinstatement, OPT and STEM OPT. She also works with the Maryland English Institute conducting orientation and advising their international students. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and German shepherd. She also enjoys cooking and baking as stress relievers.
